Just because the wall went up in Berlin, the trains did not stop running. This is a station on the East side that was once known as a "ghost station." The West side subways were allowed to run through a few stops on the East side, although they were not permitted to stop. The entrances were walled up to keep East Berliners from trying to escape on the trains. The trains would pass by stations unoccupied by people.
